LDP3 Topic Paper - Heat and Cooling
East Ayrshire Council is preparing its thirdLocal Development Plan, LDP3. The first formal stage of LDP3 will be the production of an Evidence Report.
To inform the Evidence Report for LDP3 we will be publishing a series of topic papers, exploring in detail the evidence we and others hold across the many themes that LDP3 will address. We have now published a Topic Paper on 'Heat and Cooling.'
This Topic Paper sets out and analyses evidence pertaining to the heating and cooling and buildings in East Ayrshire for the forthcoming Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3). The scope of the topic paper is to consider the heating and cooling of buildings, heat network zoning, energy efficiency and fuel poverty.
The Heating and Cooling topic paper corresponds with National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4)Policy 19, which aims 'to encourage, promote and facilitate development that supports decarbonised heating and cooling solutions, and ensure adaptation to more extreme temperatures'.
You can read the Topic Paper under Documents
This Topic Paper is part of a wider suite of papers, which will be released in groups until the Evidence Report is ready. You can access the other relevant Topic Papers under Related Projects , or by visiting the main page for Local Development Plan 3.
The Council's full Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) is also available to read here.
