LDP3 Topic Paper - Population Change πππβ³
This Topic Paper sets out and analyses evidence pertaining to population change in East Ayrshire for the forthcoming Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3).
The scope of the topic paper is to consider the available data about population change in East Ayrshire in relation to land use planning and the implications for the spatial strategy of LDP3.
National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) recognises the need for plans to be informed by an understanding of population change and the need to rebalance development, targeting opportunities and investment in areas of past decline. The Council is also required by legislation to set out its views on ‘the size, composition, health and distribution of the population of the district’ within the Evidence Report for LDP3.
