Place Based Investment Programme (PBIP) Projects - outcomes
PBIP Years 2021 – 2026
Communities leading regeneration across East Ayrshire
Our Place Based Investment Programme (PBIP) was a Scottish Government capital fund, administered by East Ayrshire Council, which ran from 2021-2026.
Every year The Council invited applications from groups providing community projects that deliver on the priorities of Community Action Plans, Local Place Plans, community engagement activity, or projects that otherwise help achieve community aspirations.
The fund supports significant change for East Ayrshire towns and villages through community led projects. We recognise that projects that make a real difference to their communities require investment.
In this page we’re highlighting the first five years of the Place Based Investment Programme, showcasing the hard work and achievements of communities throughout East Ayrshire.
We're not currently expecting a further year of funding as the programme was designed to run for five years, but if any further funding becomes available from the Scottish Government through this programme, we will issue a call for projects.
Thank you
We’d like to offer a big ‘thank you’ to the residents of East Ayrshire. The positive change we’ve achieved wouldn’t have been possible without the passion, skills, and dedication of everyone who took part.
With every example we share, we celebrate your achievements and thank you for your hard work.
Place Based Investment Programme Learning Studies
Many community members have agreed to share their learning experiences, to inspire anyone thinking about undertaking similar projects. We’ve also provided contact details to allow communities to benefit from the experience of those who have been successful.
Through our continued work with successful Place Based Investment Programme (PBIP) and partners, our Community Led Regeneration Team (CLRT) has compiled Learning Studies.
These projects offer a snapshot of the journey taken by CLRT, East Ayrshire Council colleagues, and community organisations.
The Place Based Investment Programme is a Scottish Government initiative designed to reinvigorate communities across Scotland. It aims to support town centre revitalisation and community led regeneration, by making sure that all Place Based investments are shaped by the needs and aspirations of local communities.
It aims to tackle inequality, while advancing local ambitions for net zero, wellbeing, community involvement and ownership.
