Tourism Topic Paper - LDP3 Evidence Report
LDP3 Topic Paper - Tourism, Culture and Creativity🎪🎨🪁🎸🏕️
East Ayrshire Council is preparing its third Local Development Plan, LDP3. The first formal stage of LDP3 will be the production of an Evidence Report.
To inform the Evidence Report for LDP3 we will be publishing a series of topic papers, exploring in detail the evidence we and others hold across the many themes that LDP3 will address. We have now published a Topic Paper on ‘Tourism, Culture and Creativity’.
The scope of the topic paper is to consider East Ayrshire's tourism, cultural and creative assets in relation to land use planning and the implications for the spatial strategy of LDP3.
The Tourism, Culture and Creativity topic paper corresponds with National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4) Policies 30 and 31. Policy 30 aims to "encourage, promote and facilitate sustainable tourism development which benefits local people, is consistent with our net zero and nature commitments, and inspires people to visit Scotland". The purpose of Policy 31 is to "encourage, promote and facilitate development which reflects our diverse culture and creativity, and to support our culture and creative industries."

The Tourism, Culture and Creativity Topic Paper is part of a wider suite of papers, which will be released in groups until the Evidence Report is ready. You can read other relevant Topic Papers by clicking Related Projects, or by visiting the main page for Local Development Plan 3.
