Getting involved

Poets' Corner is all about celebrating our community past and present, and we we've already got local people helping out and pledging to take care of Kilmarnock's latest small event space.

We're delighted to report that ahead of our dedication ceremony, planting at the new bench was carried out today 15 July 2026 by young people from SL33 and SL66. They're taking part in our Introduction to Outdoors programme, which gives them valuable life and work skills as they aim towards applying for apprenticeships. They did a grand job!

And no one is resting on their laurels, or their petunias or lobelia either... We'll have a team of keen gardeners from just around the corner at EACHA Kilmarnock on hand to make sure the planters are kept in tip top condition. Their gardening group loves nothing better than a project to work on so we're very thankful to all of them for their efforts.
