Tell Us About Your Place

We are starting to prepare a new Local Development Plan for East Ayrshire and we want you to get involved!

We are looking to hear your views on the places in East Ayrshire where you live, work and spend your time. This will help us to understand and evidence the issues that you think should be addressed in the LDP3, and form part of our Evidence Report.

You can share your thoughts using our "How good is your place?" survey, or "Places Interactive Map" - both available on this web page

The survey is based around the Place Standard Tool, which asks participants to rate different aspects of their local area from 1 (worst) to 7 (best). The outputs will then be used to create a profile for each of East Ayrshire's places, showing their particular strengths and opportunities for improvement. Compass diagrams, like the examples below, will be used as a visual aid to show the results for each place.

In it to Win It -

Anyone that completes the survey will have the option to be entered into a draw to win a £50 gift card, to be drawn at the end of August.

If you completed the survey prior to June 2025 and told us you would be happy to be contacted via email, we will automatically enter you into the draw. If you are not sure whether you chose this option but would like the chance to win, please email the team at localdevelopmentplans@east-ayrshire.gov.uk

Other Evidence Report engagement:

Our online tools are just one way for us to collect your views on East Ayrshire's places. There are other opportunities for you to share your thoughts with us:

  • In-person engagement events: Council planning staff will be attending local events over the Summer, to gather views which will inform our LDP3 Evidence Report. A list of these events is available to view here.
  • Topic papers: Over the next few months, we will be preparing a range of topic papers on a range of themes, such as biodiversity, town centres, and renewable energy. The topic papers will set out the evidence that we will use as background to develop LDP3. We will invite views and feedback on the evidence presented and whether we have missed anything.

We are not aware of the detail of the area you are concerned about and it sounds like it is outwith the scope of our work on the Local Development Plan,  However, if you want to email us details, we can certainly look into it for you with the relevant departments - localdevelopmentpans@east-ayrshire.gov.uk
