What do you think about opportunities for 'Play' in East Ayrshire?

We want to know what you think about opportunities for 'Play' in East Ayrshire. What is good and what is not so good? Where do you like going and what would you like to see improved?

Why are we asking about 'Play'?

Opportunities for play are vital for the health and wellbeing of our communities, especially our young people.

The importance of play is now formally recognised in planning legislation. The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 inserted a new section 16D Play Sufficiency Assessment into the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. This requires that a planning authority must assess the sufficiency of play opportunities in its area for children in preparing an evidence report to support a Local Development Plan.

Tell us what you think for a chance to win an East Ayrshire Gift Card!

Fill in our survey, or drop a pin on our map, to tell us about your local play spaces. We'd particularly like to hear from children and young people about which spaces they use and why.

Anyone that completes the survey will have the option to be entered into a draw to win a £50 gift card, to be drawn at the end of August.
