East Ayrshire Community Hospital: Future Use
East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock has been providing a range of local health and social care services for many years.
In March 2025 Ayrshire Hospice, who have temporarily been using two wards at East Ayrshire Community Hospital, will be moving to their new premises in Ayr.
This presents an opportunity to collaborate with our local communities further on the model of care to be provided from the hospital:
“improve patients’ and families’ health and care experience by promoting a more person-centred and holistic approach to care, based on informed choices and by allowing patients to stay closer to home, avoiding and reducing inappropriate acute hospital stay.
This page will not only keep you informed on how this work develops but also how you can continue to share your thoughts and views on our local Hospital.
Mapping our connections
To ensure that we
- don't duplicate supports that are already on offer
- signpost and link local groups and services with people and carers using the hospital
- identify any gaps that we need to consider
it's really important that we understand all our local connections, groups and activities.
