Have your say on how we protect adults within our community
We are reviewing our East Ayrshire Adult Protection Committee Improvement Plan. It sets out how we can improve our ability to protect adults at risk of harm within our community, and provide our community with a better understanding of adult support and protection.
The East Ayrshire Adult Protection Committee (EAAPC) is a locally based, multi-agency partnership. It is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating all adult protection policy and practice across the public, private and third sectors in East Ayrshire.
Our improvement plan
The EAAPC Improvement Plan provides “one plan” that our partners commit to, and has a direct influence on how members of the committee work together to provide strategic development, and to ensure any adult at risk of harm receives the right response by the right people at the right time.
Priorities for East Ayrshire
Caring for our young people: the committee are assured that young people receive the right support, at the right time, by the right service where there are protection concerns.
Caring for our workforce: by continuing to improve communication between EAAPC, multi-agency operational leaders and frontline staff.
People at the heart of what we do: we will take a broader approach to identifying, engaging and collating the views of those involved in adult support and protection.
Engage our communities: improve public and service perception of the supportive nature of adult support and protection.
Digital connections: strengthen our digital approaches across adult support and protection to be agile and adaptable.

The plan is informed by the EAAPC Chairs Biennial Report to Scottish ministers and as such is reviewed every two years. Our Chair has just prepared the EAAPC Chairs Biennial Report 2022 – 2024 which sets out the future priorities for the EAAPC. This report which will be finalised on 1 October 2024 has been informed by the multi-agency ASP Self-Evaluation 2024 findings and identified improvement activity.
