East Ayrshire Licensing Panel is asking for your views on proposed changes to closing times for late night catering premises.

What is the current situation?

On 28 August 2003 the Panel agreed that any late hours catering premises providing food would be restricted to a closing time of no later than 2am.

At the moment take-aways must close 30 minutes before late night licensed premises, such as nightclubs.

What is proposed?

On 2 October 2025 the Licensing Panel agreed to carry out a review of these restrictions, with a proposal to extend the closing time of take-away premises from 2am to 3am. This could mean that take-aways would be allowed to close 30 minutes after nightclubs.

Why have a consultation?

These changes may have an impact on the premises, the community, and their surroundings and we're undertaking this survey to obtain views on the proposal to extend the closing time of take-away premises from 2am to 3am.
