East Ayrshire Equality Outcomes 2025-2029 Survey

This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.  

This survey is for both users of East Ayrshire Council services and East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

Throughout this survey, we reference protected characteristics. There are nine protected characteristics:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Marriage and Civil Partnership
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or Belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual Orientation

The survey will be split into two different sections;

Section 1: Equality and diversity in East Ayrshire

Definition of equality and diversity:

  • Equality means ensuring everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of their abilities, their background or their lifestyle.
  • Diversity means appreciating the differences between people and treating people's values, beliefs, cultures and lifestyles with respect.

Section 2: Prejudice and discrimination

Definition of prejudice and discrimination:

  • Prejudice is a preconceived opinion or attitude towards a particular group.
  • Discrimination is treating someone less favourably than you treat or would treat others.
