East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (EAHSCP) Carers Strategy sets out how we plan to deliver on our commitment to support unpaid carers of all ages in East Ayrshire over the next three years.

‘The Right Support in the Right Way at the Right Time’

This strategy sets out our commitment to:

“Ensure EAHSCP is striving to meet the needs and aspirations of carers and that this is embedded across all partnership services, including those commissioned externally. Most importantly, through listening to the voice of Carers and working with key stakeholders, the strategy for 2025 -2028 will build on the work already achieved.”

With what we have heard so far from our unpaid carers, communities, our colleagues and informed by the guidance and legislation this has led us to develop six key priorities we would like to achieve.

These priorities aim to ensure that all carers are valued, recognised, and supported effectively.

Priority 1. Raising awareness of unpaid carers

Priority 2. Access to Information and advice

Priority 3. Carers fully involved in the shaping and planning of services

Priority 4. A life outside of caring (which includes short breaks)

Priority 5. Improving Carer awareness and experience around Hospital discharge

Priority 6. Financial and employment

We are seeking to ensure that people are involved, consulted with, and actively engaged in the design and development of our Health and Social Care services and continue to respond to the changing needs of carers and young carers.

Help us to do this by completing the survey below and sharing your views to ensure we work together towards achieving the above priorities, identifying any gaps and ensure unpaid carers continue to be at the heart of everything we do!

Our consultation will run until 18th April 2025.
