Business Resource Event | June 2026 - Draft

The Business Resource Drop‑In event took place on Thursday 11 June 2026 at WG13 in Kilmarnock, which brought together start‑ups, established businesses, and community groups from across East Ayrshire for a day of practical support and collaboration.

The session created a welcoming space for anyone operating in a business‑like capacity to access guidance, ask questions, and make new connections at their own pace. Attendees said the informal format made it easier to explore opportunities and understand what help is available locally. A wide range of Council services were on hand, including Employability, Business Support, Planning and Building Standards, Cleaner & Greener, Trading Standards, and advisers offering funding guidance for community groups.

Representatives from the Council for Voluntary Organisations were also present to support charities and social enterprises navigating governance, funding, and operational challenges.

The event also featured strong external partnership working, with stalls from the Federation of Small Businesses, Kilmarnock Business Association, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, and the East Ayrshire Gift Card team.

Their presence gave local businesses direct access to networks, membership benefits, and promotional opportunities that can help them grow and stay resilient.

Attendees were encouraged to engage in forward‑looking conversations with We Make Kilmarnock and the Kilmarnock Town Centre Masterplan team. These discussions invited people to share ideas, learn about ongoing regeneration work, and contribute to shaping the future of Kilmarnock’s town centre.
