The Auchentiber Play Park was previously sold by Green Belt Group Limited and may become ownerless property, with the potential to be dealt with through the Kings and Lords Treasurers Remembrancer (KLTR).

Through the KLTR Ownerless Property Transfer Scheme, there may be an opportunity for residents to form a community group to take ownership of the site. While development opportunities of the site are limited, given it is protected greenspace, there may be opportunities to develop a community garden or re-instate the play park – although it is understood that the play infrastructure on the site may be deemed beyond repair.

Interested parties would be required to agree a vision for the site, consider the feasibility, form a suitably constituted group, attain funding for the legal costs associated with transfer and for the project costs itself including agreeing ongoing maintenance etc.

Interested individuals can be supported by Vibrant Communities who can provide advice, templates, links with the right council departments and funding guidance to bring the group together, take on the asset and fund the project.

If you think this might be of interest to you please complete the survey below. It is anticipated that if we have 10 or more returns Vibrant Communities will convene a local meeting to discuss the process and supports.
