We launched our award winning East Ayrshire Gift Card in 2020 to support local businesses by driving footfall into our town and village centres. Our pioneering project was such a success that the Scottish Towns Partnership and Scottish Government have since rolled out similar gift card schemes to council areas throughout Scotland.
As the gift card can only be redeemed in East Ayrshire businesses this helps lock money into the local economy, encourages people to think local first, and helps everyone discover some of the hidden gems on their doorstep.
Since launching we and our partner organisations have developed new ways to use the gift card. These include:
employers rewarding their staff
community groups using them to thank volunteers
prizes or incentives to boost sales
East Ayrshire Council and various community groups using the card to support people in financial hardship or training programmes. This doubles the impact of the gift card as it supports people and then feeds into the business community providing support when people and businesses need it most.

Now the gift card is entering its sixth year of operation we're looking at all the ways the gift card can be used, and looking for your input to help us develop its potential even further.
We want to hear from you about your experience of the East Ayrshire Gift Card. Your feedback can help us to improve processes but more importantly help us look at how we continue to support people and businesses and grow our local economy.

As we look to further the use and scope of the cards we're exploring how people and businesses have used their cards so far. We're also looking for the most interesting, quirky, funny and heartwarming tales about how you used yours. And there are prizes for the best ones!
All you need to do is fill in this survey. It's completely anonymous, We have three £50 gift cards as a prize for the top random or quirky stories. If you wish to enter the prize draw your contact details will be required but will not be used for any other purposes. These will be used for a series of social media posts but we won't reveal names or personal details.
